Position(s): Fire Science Teacher - Part-time, Extra-curricular involvement preferred
Credentials: Appropriate California Secondary Single Subject Credential in specific subject area or the appropriate CTE Credential. Or enrolled in an approved teacher preparation program.
Work Year: 3 days per week during school year, plus 2 teacher workdays and 3 In-service days. Two block schedule periods for total of 12 hours per week. (Monday - 7:30 am to 11:00 am / Tuesday & Thursday - 7:30 am to 11:30 am (subject to change if the school master schedule changes). Teaching assignment may be shared.
Start Date: August 14, 2023 (2023-2024 school year)
Salary: Appropriate placement on the Certificated Salary Schedule. New Career Technical Education (CTE) Teachers who have not received a Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) or valid California teaching credential, but have the required three (3) years of work experience in the field and have met all the requirements as defined by the State of California Teacher Credentialing Commission to be eligible to apply for a Designated Subjects Career Technical Education credential, shall be placed on the base salary with no additional compensation for units.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Experience or training in teaching, working with youth and adults as a volunteer or in paid situations, and in counseling or mentoring. AA and/or Bachelor and/or Master’s degree in related field
LICENSES OR OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Possession of a valid California Secondary Teaching Credential in specific subject area or the appropriate CTE Credential. Or enrolled in an approved teacher preparation program.
