Position(s): Payroll/Accounts Payable Clerk
Work Year: 258 Days; 8 hours p/day, M-F
Start Date: July 1, 2023
Salary: $44,598 - $49,057 annually, depending on experience
Description: Under supervision of the Chief Business Official, the Payroll/Accounts Payable Clerk performs a variety of tasks necessary for payroll processing and general accounting duties involving district records and accounts.
Position Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent, with additional course work in accounting.
Experience: Two years of payroll and financial record-keeping is desired. Knowledge of school district accounting systems, requirements, and procedures are preferred.
Knowledge of:
General clerical techniques and accounting procedures using computers
Correct grammatical usage
Telephone techniques
Filing systems
Ability to:
Perform responsible clerical work with speed, accuracy, and independent judgment.
Make arithmetical calculations accurately
Learn specific methods and policies quickly and judgmentally.
Compile and maintain accurate and complete records.
Compose independently.
Execute written and oral direction in a pleasant and efficient manner.
Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.
Typing rate of 45 words per minute preferred.
May be required to work overtime.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Must possess a valid California Driver’s License
May be required to pass an aptitude test.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Ability to work in a busy atmosphere with constant interruptions and timelines.
