Position(s):     Student Body/Athletic Secretary

Work Year:   195 workdays; 8 hours per day; 5 days per week

Start Date:     May 1, 2023

Salary:           Range 9; $19.11 - $21.03, Depending on Experience

JOB DESCRIPTION

Supervised by the Principal, the Student Body/Athletic Secretary will perform specialized clerical and financial record keeping, including bookkeeping procedures to maintain the Associated Student Body (ASB) accounts, as well as collateral responsibilities related to District fees and responsibilities associated with the Athletics. An employee in this classification will collect fees, fines, and other monies related to the financial transactions of student organizations and District monies.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education:      High school diploma with additional training and/or experience in the job market. Knowledge of computer programs and operation of same. Familiarity with the operation of a busy office.

Experience:     Should include at least two years of any combination of training, education and experience which demonstrates an ability to perform duties of the position such as:

  • Experience as a full-charge bookkeeper

  • Completion of formal education in bookkeeping or a closely related field supplemented by financial record keeping and clerical work experience.

Ability to:

  • Perform a variety of clerical and technical tasks as well as establish and maintain effective relationships with persons contacted in the course of work.

  • Perform full-charge bookkeeping and financial record-keeping work.

  • Perform clerical work with speed and accuracy.

  • Organize work to meet deadlines.

  • Compile and maintain accurate records and files.

  • Maintain confidentiality of privileged and sensitive information

  • Adjust to changes in workload, assignments, priorities, and policies.

  • Operate a computer and a typewriter with accuracy.

  • Operate a calculator quickly and accurately.

  • Understand and carry out written and oral instructions.

  • Perform duties with awareness of all District requirements and Board policies.
