Congratulations to April’s students of the month, Winter Whittle and Teagan Serpa, who were honored at the Angels-Murphys Rotary luncheon yesterday, April 20. The following information was shared at the luncheon about each student.
Winter Whittle: “A noteworthy characteristic of Winter is that he goes above and beyond. For instance, he is not a member of Renaissance and Leadership, but somehow finds time to contribute to their projects. He is a member of CSF and FFA, and has proudly represented the Bullfrogs in Cross Country and Track for all four years. Quiet in class, he is described as helpful and kind. Winter plans to have a career in agriculture business administration after graduating from Colorado Mesa University. His hobbies include collecting vinyl records, specializing in country western. Among his favorites is Marty Robbins’ “Trail Songs and Gunfighter Ballads.” He can probably be heard singing these classics while working on his family ranch.”
Teagan Serpa: “As a year-round athlete, Teagan has played basketball, softball, and volleyball. She is a member of Bret Harte’s State DV State Championship Team. She also helps with videotaping the school’s football team. Teagan’s activities outside the classroom activities include CSF, FFA, and Interact for which she served as Vice President. She is also active within the community, volunteering at the District Attorney’s Office and working for the Public Health Tobacco Diversion Program. In the classroom, Teagan is engaging, polite, and dedicated for getting the best from her classes, just like her approach in sports. Teagan will be attending UC Santa Barbara where she will major in Psychology. Her career goal is to be a Forensic Psychologist for the FBI. This may or may not be a coincidence, as her hobbies include singing, and she sang the national anthem at a local FBI Convention.”
