Congratulations to May’s students of the month, Giovanni Da Ros and Plutarco Cruz, who were honored at the Angels-Murphys Rotary BBQ on Thursday, May 25. The following information was shared about each student.
Giovanni Da Ros: “As an exchange student from Italy, Giovanni had no hesitation in jumping into our pond to instantly become a member of the “rana” family. Gio represented the Bullfrogs proudly in his participation in soccer and track. In his limited spare time, Gio can be found loudly cheering his fellow-student athletes at volleyball and basketball and He is also a blood donor: type AB positive. Gio will have one more year of high school before college after which he will apply at Universita de Bologna or UCLA. His current plans is to major in Economics, but his heart is captured by the prospect of composing music. Looking back, Gio says Bret Harte is where he has understood the true value of friendship.”
Plutarco Cruz: “If you need support, a student whom you can reach is Plutarco Cruz. Plutarco has chosen a path that focuses on service to others and signs show that this is where his heart will continue to lead. He has been a member of the Bret Harte Cheer team and has also participated in the Dance program. He has provided community service for eight years volunteering at the downtown Murphys Christmas dinner with his mentor Richard Gutierrez. Plutarco is enrolled on the ROP medical program working in the ER department and has donated over 250 hours. Plutarco plans to enroll next year at Columbia College followed by transferal to Sacramento State with the plan to major in nursing. His goal is to become a nursing practitioner or travelling nurse to visit all over the US and Canada. Plutarco is a young man who understands the work needed and appreciates the support he has received and is a grand example of someone is willing to pass it forward.”
