This past weekend, 19 Bret Harte FFA members attended the 96th California FFA State Leadership Conference in Sacramento where they had the opportunity to visit colleges, attend workshops, watch many performances, listen to speakers, and meet new people from all over the state.
Senior Addison Heermance, our Bret Harte FFA Chapter president and California FFA Northern Region Vice President, achieved something not many Bret Harte FFA members have... Top 12! Addy made it through three days of rigorous interviews and presentations to become a state officer candidate and part of this elite group of 12 from over 100,000 high school FFA members throughout California. Heermance earned her state officer degree in 2023 as a junior, and has committed to Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo in the fall. In addition, Heermance is a member of the three-time Bret Harte Cross Country Girls Section Championship team.
Afton Phillips, former Bret Harte FFA Chapter President and current Cal Poly student made the top 28 as a state officer candidate. Seniors Ella Bach and Taleah Lusk both served as state delegates. Lusk was among the top 3 in the state for Poultry Proficiency.
Congratulations to all of our Bullfrogs! Photo courtesy of Bret Harte FFA.
