Bret Harte art students earned tops honors at the annual student art show, ArtSpirit, hosted by Calaveras Arts Council. In its fifth year, ArtSpirit showcases artwork by Calaveras youth during Arts in Education Month. During the month of March, Calaveras Arts Council highlighted local high school artwork and concluded the show with an awards reception on April 13, where our Bullfrogs brought home four 1st place finishes, four 2nd place, and one 3rd place finish collectively. In addition, Best of Show in 2D and 3D in Art was awarded to seniors Meredith Grotto and Eliot Burita, respectively.
Congratulations to the following awards winners: Ella Becker 11 - 3rd place (Pencil); Eliot Burita 12 - 1st Place and Best of Show 3D (No Category); Sam Bussel 12 - 2nd place (Oil Paint); Kyera Chraft 11 - 2nd place (Watercolor); Meredith Grotto 12 - 1st place and Best of Show 2D (Oil Paint); Rebecca Hungerford 12 - 3rd place (Oil Paint); Hunter Irish 12 - 2nd place (Acrylic); Sophie Kerins - 1st place (Pencil); Layla Lucus 12 - 2nd place (Pencil); and MJ McBride 12 - 1st place (Watercolor).
