COURTESY POST:

”Bret Harte Families,

Did you know that Sober Grad Night was developed by the California Highway Patrol in 1985 due to alcohol-related crashes, injuries, and death of high school graduates? In an effort to decrease these incidents, the CHP, along with local volunteers and parents, established an almost 40-year awareness campaign to include fundraisers culminating in a safe and sober all night graduation celebration. Within in this tradition, the parent/guardians of the Bret Harte Class of 2024 are in the remaining stages for their Sober Grad scheduled for after the District's Commencement Ceremony on Friday, May 31.

The Bret Harte Class of 2024 Senior Social/Sober Grad is in need of assistance from other Bret Harte families and our community to make this year's event a success!

Volunteers:  Most importantly, we are looking for volunteers to assist in set-up/decorating, event coordination, security, servers, activity oversight, and clean-up. Shifts range from two to hours dependent upon task beginning at 8:00 AM on Friday, May 31through the morning of Saturday, June 1. Learn more and sign up at https://www.signupgenius.com/go/9040E49ACAF2CA5F58-49378470-senior. Not listed is an additional clean up of stacking chairs, etc. and a final walk through Saturday morning at 10 for those that are able to just show up.

Prizes:  The event will be full of activities and games to keep our graduates busy, and we are still in need of prizes! Maybe you have a gift still in the box in the closet that you want to re-gift? Or a gift card you won at a raffle you won, that you really didn't want? If so, consider donating it to us. You can also make a little basket of your own if that's what you choose to do. Gift cards are also accepted and greatly appreciated.

Please help us make this year's Senior Social/Sober Grad Night a success for the graduates in our community!…
