Four BH FFA stduents with their ribbons and plaques

Bret Harte FFA returned from the Mother Lode FFA Speaking Contest, held at Linden High School, yesterday December 11 with five first place, two second place finishes and one third place finish after competing among 12 high school chapters in seven categories.

First place finishes included Lois Miles in Creed, Emely Melquiadez in Spanish Creed Blue Division, Paisley Lusk in Impromptu, Iris Bender in Prepared Public Speaking, and Zoe Ruggieri in Job Interview. Second place finishes included Karly Ritchie-Shields in Impromptu and Carson Prescott in Job Interview. Gracie Anderson finished third in Impromptu. Additional finishes included Ella Becker fourth in Job Interview, Mia Freeman fifth in Creed, Mina Russell Choi sixth in Impromptu, Chase Phillips seventh in Job Interview, Drew Bach seventh in Creed, Annelise Zumbach seventh in Extemporaneous Public Speaking, and the Cooperative Marketing Team (Brody Burnett, Hannah Dillashaw, Sofia Marshall, Angel Nava, Johanna Nava) fifth place finish.

Chapter members made a strong statement in this year’s Mother Lode FFA section contest with eight Bullfrogs qualifying for the FFA Central Region Speaking Contest finals scheduled for Friday, March 7 at Modesto Junior College. Congratulations to the following Bullfrogs moving on: Gracie Anderson, Iris Bender, Paisley Lusk, Emely Melquiadez, Lois Miles, Carson Prescott, Karly Ritchie-Shields, and Zoe Ruggieri.
