Bret Harte Independent Study Program's student of the first semester is Ava Scott. Last Thursday, January 16 Ava was honored at the Angels-Murphys Rotary luncheon in Murphys.
"When Ava joined my program, it was struggle in the beginning. After a meeting with her mother and I, Ava turned it all around and has a new outlook on her education. She has new goals and consistently works hard to keep her grades up. She is so fun to have as a student as is always kind and funny. It has truly been a pleasure to get to know her better and play a part in helping her achieve her goals." - Mr. Lane, BHISP coordinator
