REMINDER: "Chicago: The Musical" (Teen Edition), a production by Bret Harte Drama, is scheduled to premiere this Thursday, April 17 at 7:00 PM. Based on the book by Bob Fosse and Fred Ebb, and the play by Maurine Dallas Watkins, "Chicago: The Musical" (Teen Edition) tells the story of two women in search of stardom during the roaring 20s with the complexities of greed, scandal, and betrayal. General admission is $12. Student and seniors are $5. Cash or credit card accepted at the door. No pre-sale tickets. If you miss the first show or want to see it again, additional performances are scheduled for 7:00 PM on April 18, 24 and 25, along with a 2:00 PM matinee show on Saturday, April 19. FFA UPDATE: "All FFA members showing sheep, goats, hogs, cattle, or rabbits at the 2025 Calaveras County Fair, there will be a MANDATORY parent/exhibitor meeting on Tuesday, April 29th at 6:00 pm in the Bret Harte Theater. We will go over expectations, fair preparation and the fair week schedule. FFA members and their parent/guardian are both required to attend. We will also have Diane Eastman in the lobby for you to purchase buyer baskets and gifts. If you would like to purchase a buyer's gift and have it delivered to the fairgrounds on Auction morning, please be ready to place your orders at this meeting! FFA UPDATE: "On Wednesday, April 16th, 2025 we will be holding our last monthly FFA meeting of the year in the MPR! We will begin the evening honoring those FFA members who have attended a minimum of 5 FFA meetings this year and our state degree recipients as well as their parents at 6:00 pm with a tri-tip sandwich dinner. ONLY students who remained on good standings for the entirety of the year will be on the list for dinner. Then, at 7:00 pm we will begin with our formal FFA Meeting to discuss the remaining activities of the school year and recognize our 2025 State Degree members. Other events/reminders as they approach are listed below: • 4/28- CA State FFA Degree Ceremony at Modesto High School, if your student is receiving this award please read the letter that was sent out to you. Congratulations! • 4/29- MANDATORY parent and exhibitor fair meeting beginning at 6:00 pm in the Theater. FFA UPDATE: "We are approaching some important deadlines that we would like parents/guardians of exhibitors to be aware of. Fair entry forms are due to the fairground’s office by Saturday April 5th, 2025. We are asking students to communicate with us when their entries have been turned in. Some students still do not have their entries signed by the Advisor. Next week is Spring break, therefore we need to sign all entries by Friday March 28, 2025. Students need to have the following to complete their entries with the fairgrounds: 1. Completed and signed Fair Entry form. For Swine exhibitors- you also need the Prop 12 Breeder paper signed. For Goat & Sheep exhibitors- make sure that your scrapies tag number is listed on the entry form. 2. Completed and signed Release & Liability Waiver Form 3. Completed and signed First Aid Parent Permission Form 4. Copy of their Bill of Sale 5. Copy of their Ethics class Training certificate 6. Money to pay the entry fee(s). Advisors are starting to arrange their 2nd project visits in the next month; we still have students who have not scheduled their 1st visit with us. Please help us to get those visits arranged and help your exhibitor to get their entry forms turned in by the deadline. NO LATE ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED. REMINDER: Today's annual 8th Grade Expo is scheduled to begin at 3:30 PM in the Bret Harte Theater. Attendees MUST have submitted permission slips prior to attending the event. After the welcome and introduction speeches, future Bullfrogs will take a campus tour. Parent/guardians are to arrive at 5:30 PM for a presentation in the Theater. Thereafter, all will converge in the Multipurpose Room to schedule their registration appointments for the following week and learn more about activities and clubs. Attendees are expected to attend the entirety of the event. Parent/guardians are required to provide their student’s transportation home when the event ends at approximately 6:30 PM.
